Development of diagnostics and treatment opportunities based on Alpha-fetoprotein and its receptor

AFP Gives Us Opportunity To Find And To Kill  Cancer Cells

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), an oncofetal protein was described by Abelev. AFP receptors in tumor cells have been studied for decades. The complex structure of the AFP transmembrane receptor still requires further characterization of the structure. There is a great deal of evidence demonstrating that AFP receptors are expressed on the membrane surface of cancer/fetal cells. These facts give opportunities to build delivery system for cure and diagnostics and to develop early cancer detection.
